New Blog Alert – Letter From France - Rhône-Alpes
Now, I know that when most people think of Grenoble they think of Gigi getting her car broken into and her love of George Benson (whoever he is/was?)
However, there are normal people in Genoble and I’ve recently come across a blog by one of these.
Letter from France is exactly that….
An occasional letter from Patrick Owen who ended up in France with a wife and 2 kids after working in Nigeria and working on The Golden Hinde (that old ship by that really good pub, that for some reason I do remember did lovely Steak and Ale pies, on London’s South Bank.)
Although I’ve said that this is a New Blog Alert, the blog has been going since 2009.
I’ve just been a bit slow about getting round to discover it!
I’ll be back to review it in the very near future but…
I can thoroughly advise that you take a quick peek.
There are a whole range of posts…
From posts about French police drinking on the job to…
Football mania (which is probably why the French cops knock back a few bevvies in the first place!)
And, of course, there are plenty of posts about Teaching English in France because….
After all…
That’s Patrick’s job!
So, don’t wait for my silly blog review of Letter from France!
Come over and have a good sniff round (I’m sure Patrick won’t mind?)
Better still, subscribe so that you miss the updates (or use that Google Friend Connect thingy?)
Maybe even leave a comment?
You see, despite what you’ve heard….
There are sane people in Grenoble and…
Patrick Owen is proof of that!
Oh, by the way…
Patrick talks a bit about himself on Expatica.
All the best

Bonjour Keith,
We are from Grenoble and our three children were born there too. We now live in Australia but we love our country of birth so much we have published a book and a blog “Dear France, sweet county of my childhood – Chère France, doux pays de mon enfance” where Grenoble and the Alps have a whole chapter.
Very happy to find your blog, do visit ours when you can.
A bientot,
Pascal et Isabella
