…wherever I lay my hat, that’s my home…. is Linda’s blog describing her life in Nice after a fair bit of globetrotting.
As Linda explains… “So who am I? A Swedish girl/woman/lady.. what should you actually classify yourself as when you are 35..? Born in Stockholm, have lived on Koh Samui, in Barcelona, two years in Bangkok and now living in Nice,France. This is my life as an expat!”
Linda’s life in France starts in November 2009 when she says Bonjour! and explains a little bit about herself.
And, getting to grips with the natives even at this early stage, she says… “These French guys on the other hand are absolutely convinced that they are God’s gift to women and cannot understand why I tell them to piss off!”
All I can says is… “French Guys in Nice; leave Linda alone!”
Moving swiftly on to…..
Picnics and Parties….
I get the feeling that Linda like picnics (I suspect that she might enjoy the occasional party too?)
I do note that the evening seems to be a success as Linda reports… “It was a fab night, we got just perfectly tipsy to be just slightly hungover the next day when we had planned to make a proper brunch, great planning!! “
Oh, I’m so glad…
And, in November, what better way to celebrate than with beaujolais and a picnic?
Or, better still, what about a wine, picnic and rave?
Which finds Linda… “well on my way of becoming an expert on Bordeaux wines!”
Moving swiftly on to…..
Pictures of Nice….
Linda kindly takes some Pictures! to show us what it’s like in Nice.
It looks very nice, if you know what I mean?
Especially the crazy waves!
And qu’est-ce qu’un cas de catastrophe… “… all the bars on the beach were destroyed!”
Still, things look calmer when Linda posts some photos to explain… this is what I’ve been up to lately…
And things look colder when Linda talks about Snow, Carnaval and new friends!!
But happily, Linda finishes that post with the words… “Life is actually pretty good here in Nice!”
And other places….
Linda doesn’t root herself to Nice though (nice as it might be!)
And, if that’s not enough, in What a weekend, Linda goes to St Paul and Vence.
And in Vence, Linda… “watched the old men playing petanque, does it get more french than this… ?”
And then there’s that Medieval day in Biot.
Where… “of course they had the ‘crazy people’ who were running around ‘attacking’ everyone… it was all very well done but a bit too real… they had very bad breath… just like back in the days I guess…”
Sounds just like rural Brittany!
So, Summing up….
All the best
