Sorry to the guy who missed out; I’ll get round to you sooner or later and you’ve certainly been here long enough to be used to dreadful customer service and tradesmen not turning up when they should!
So, with no further apology I’l get on and review this delightful little blog.
From Here to Eternity is Deborah’s blog and details her life on her 11 hectare farm in the wonderful Lot et Garonne in southwest France.
The blog starts in December 2007 with Deborah being there for 10 months and already she realises that… “no such thing as Customer Service as I know it from the UK in the shops.Buying stuff can be a nightmare; I’ve learnt to buy things only if there is everything I need in the shop. Items come in, sell out and the shops may get more but just as likely they wont. Asking doesn’t help, as invariably they will tell you they just don’t know.”
Well that’s a good start…isn’t it?
The France is so Different bits….

When Deborah finds that she’s 0.17 Hectares shorts of the amount of land required for healthcare cover, she meets a nice man who explains a way round the problem.
In France there’s always a way round a problem.

This one is in Eymet (known as the most English town in France) where Deborah wins a a basket of preserves in a raffle!
If she puts those with the free range pork she buys, she really will have A Free Meal?
Especially when it comes to reporting food poisoning risks!
The Foodie Bits….
And, talking of food,let’s see what we can find to eat…
Tartiflette Time? Well, yes, of course.
In our house its always Tartiflette Time (except that we spell it with an F because of a unfortunate effect it has on me, but that’s another story…), and Deborah’s photo recipe makes it all seem so easy.
And what about that Bottom of the Fridge Soup, Top of the Fridge Flan?
What a sensible way to clear up allthose odds and ends.
Sounds pretty tasty too!
As does the Confit of Duck.
Easy to do and easy to eat – that’s my type of food!
Even if sometimes you have to work a bit to get it all done.
Like in Pork Processing – Belly Pork.
Don’t those Chinese Spare Ribs look scrumptialitious?
The Chickie Bits…..
Yes, Deborah (like all the best people) has chickies!
And sometimes chickies get poorly.

I read it and I survived and so, it would appear, did the chickie.
For, before too long, we see Sick Chick Back with the Flock.
That must have truly been An Eggcellent Day!
If you’ve ever wanted to see a squirrel that looks like a chick you really ought to take a look at Chick Update 1.
Although by Chick Update 2 the poor chickie (now named Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep) is looking more like a proper chickie.
Which is really a good excuse for me to say that, in my humble opinion, a proper chickie looks at its best when lying on it’s back on the dining table having just spent the last hour and a half in the oven.
But maybe that’s just me?
