News From France - Île-de-France

ile de france News From France because we all love reading blogs about life in FranceNews From France is Leesa’s blog about her day to day life living near Paris.

Leesa, according to her blog profile, is a former San Diegan living in France for the past 3 years who writes about her daily experiences of life in France to share with anyone who’s interested.

I’ve been following Leesa’s blog for a long time now and that makes it a bit hard for me to be objective for this review – for me, News from France has become part of the furniture, just like Google, Yahoo and Facebook.  Is that a good thing? Well, yes, I think it is.

The posts range from photo essays such as this one on French Poppies to this rather tasty one…  And Some Goats Cheese.

There are posts about films… Hubba hubba-hunk! (I think Leesa is a slight fan of some actor person called Richard Gere – whoever he is?) and posts about Macaroni Cheese (Could Life Get any Better?) which also involve having dinner with that Richard Whatshisname actor chappy whilst her husband sleeps – it’s all way too confusing for a simple lad like me!

News From France wouldn’t be news however, unless it did the tummy envy stuff and Leesa wouldn’t be a Cupcake Princess if it weren’t for posts like these…. Flavourful Nougart, Oh, la, la!!Cupcakes… Nothing like this here in France!! –  Lunch at Bon Marché and finally, the question of the year… Le Chocolat – aphrodisiac or laxative?!! You tell me!!!

I’m sorry, I should have told you to let out your belt before looking at those posts!  Any weight gain as a result of reading Leesa’s blog is to be immediately blamed on me!

Come to think of it, Leesa does seem to like actors.  I noticed this post about an Actor Sighting in Sherman Oaks. This time she’s getting excited about a real actor (he starred in the brilliant Kitchen Confidential!)

And, I can’t finish without pointing out the fantastic photos taken in the Jardin de Luxemburg.

Seriously, I’m going to stop waffling and let you discover News From France all by yourself.  Just take it easy with the cupcakes, eh?

All the best

    Hey Keith!!

WOWWW!!! What a lovely review to wake up to in the morning!! Thanks so much for your stellar review of my blog!! It’s BRILLIANT!! Frankly, I had forgotten about some of those older posts, so thanks for bringing them into the light!
I started News From France almost 3 years ago (end of Feb. this year) to give my friends/family in the States my “daily” news from life here in France, hence the title of my blog… Little did I know that three years later I’d be going strong… : )
And, the very BEST part of my blog, is that it has connected me to some outstanding and wonderful people whom I would have never met – be it online and then in person, if it weren’t for my blog!
Thanks again so very kindly for putting my blog out here for people to see and discover– I LOVE to share my life and pics with everyone (esp. the food shots)!! I’m sure to meet you and Jilly one day, hopefully this year…
    All my best,
    Leesa

I’m also an English-speaking blogger from Paris and I have come to know Leesa through blogging. She is as radiant in person as her blog lets you believe.

Hi Keith, just called over from Leesa’s blog, she has done a little post about your blog. I have been following Leesa for along time too. And last year we met in Paris, along with her other friends, Barbara and Dawn, Kim, andrea, Patricia, Jasmin , and Carolyn and Clive from Sydney. There were a few other people too, Elizabeth and Neil, who’s cats I looked after in August and got to stay in their lovely apartment.

Leesa is such a lovely lady, and a good friend, we had such a hoot looking around Paris.
