Support a worthy cause…
I’m always happy to support worthy causes here at A Taste of Garlic.
If there’s something you want the world to know about…
Or, at least, the sensible section of the world…
Those who read Garlic, in other words…
You only have to ask and I’ll publish a post about it here.
However, today I have a cause that is very close to my heart…
I wish to help eradicate the malaise that has poisoned modern society…
And misguided youth.
And help people return to a better age…
An age of decency and respect…
An age of values and simple common decency.
In other words…
I want to Ban the Hoodie and…
Bring back the Duffle Coat!
I’ll be adding details on my Life in France blog over at BretonDiary.com
There’ll be a Facebook page and I’m going to set up one of those DirectGov.uk electronic petitions…
We only need to get 100,000 electronic signatures for the subject to be discussed by Government.
And, until I get all that set up…
Please tell all your friends to take a look at The Duffle Coat Challenge over at www.BretonDiary.com and ask them to support this worthy cause.
You know, for the sake of humanity…
It’s the right thing to do!
All the best

Would you be interested in helping the plight of a tenant farmer in Scotland who is facing losing her home?

Little Me
Send me the details and I’ll publish them so that Garlic’s 2,500 daily visitors can take a look themselves.

If it was good enough for Paddington it’s good enough for me – I’m in!

All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.
And I firmly believe that….
A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.
Thus…
In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not think that we should shrink from this responsibility – we should welcome it.
Will see you on the picket line?

P.S. I do have to admit that none of those quotes are to be found in any of the Paddington bear books and, I feel, the Paddington bear books are all the lesser for it.

And here is the original blog by the tenant herself

Oh yes I’ll be there, keeping warm in my duffle coat, with my Paddington Bear toy. Hubby says he’ll be there, but only if he can have proper original toggles on his!

You’ve got to have the original toggles!

When I suggested to my boys that they have duffel coats they just laughed and pulled on their hoodies.

In cases like this I tend to blame the parent?
Anyway, if you and 99,999 of your friends sign the petition, it’ll get discussed in Parliament, become law and then Sarky will copy the UK and it’ll become law here and you’ll never have to buy a hoodie again!
And think how much fun your boys will have playing with their toggles!
All the best
