A Taste of Garlic

Slight lack of a post today

general Slight lack of a post today because we all love reading blogs about life in FranceI’d like to apologise for the slight lack of a post today.

This is due, in part, to the traumatic day I had yesterday.

My father has come to visit and I had to pick him up from the airport.

It was a simple task; one that even I couldn’t mess up!

During the simple journey from Redon to St. Malo I managed to get lost twice (this really isn’t possible.)

And then, having collected my father, I managed to take entirely the wrong road (even thought the right road was properly signposted), and spent half an hour driving west when I should have been driving south (and yes, I do have a compass on the dashboard – a big one!)

The real highlight of the day, though, was managing to break the ticket machine in the car park at the ferry terminal at St. Malo (yes, I know that my father was flying in to Dinard; the ferry terminal at St. Malo was just a mistake, OK!), thus preventing any of the people queuing behind me from being able to get out of the aforementioned car park.

If you’re one of those people and are still stuck in that car park, there are some nice places for breakfast in St Malo?

I do promise that normal posting will resume tomorrow.

All the best

At least you managed to use your computer without problems! Hope the rest of your father’s visit is uncomplicated.

I have days like that most days !! You get used to them after a while.
I hope you and your dad enjoy his visit.

You have my sympathies. I took visitors into Angouleme on Tuesday, and all the roads were blocked off by protesters marching about the age change for pensioners. It was nightmare and I was more than relieved to find the car park after seeing bits of Angouleme that I did not even know existed!!! For pictures of the 2CV we saw take a look at my blog. Diane

Tour de Bretagne…? At least Klaus got to see a few things!
Did he have any comment to make on his son and heir..?

I don’t know – I’ll ask him in a while. He’s currently “Reading with his eyes closed” in the garden!

As to being an heir – I may be the oldest (and, quite possibly, the oddest!) but I have about 10 million siblings so doubt that I’ll inherit much!

Dropping in after seeing your blog a few times on Exposeyourblog

I blame French road signs. They’re hopeless. My theory is that road planners all took bad acid in the 1970s and just haven’t got the will to change things. ALL CAPS in signs has been proved to be more difficult to read. Never knowing the name of the road you’re on, or suddenly finding signs that don’t indicate how to stay on the road you’re on… like you’re following the D19 and then all of a sudden you have a sign with two town names on it, neither of which appears to be really on your route, and no D19 in sight.

Wait, did someone switch your pinard with chouchenn?

Now Keith -that sound like one of my days! I’d just leave your Dad reading in the garden and go take a rest!!
