A Taste of Garlic

An Apology

general An Apology because we all love reading blogs about life in FranceI would just like to apologise for the slight lack of posts today and yesterday.

This is entirely the fault of the World Cup.

Or, to be more specific, it’s all Rooney’s fault!

I am being rushed into hospital to have an emergency footballotomy (the removal of that part of a man’s brain that obsesses over the beautiful game.  I understand that I’ll be able to lead quite a happy life with the remaining 10% of my cranial matter.)

So, just before the ambulance arrives, I just like to say one last thing……

Rooney, you’re a donkey and I hate you!

There, I feel better for that.

I’m sure that after the operation all will be well and normal Taste of Garlic business will resume without interruption from Tuesday.

All the best

What do you think of the shambles that’s passing for a French team at the moment?
    They are sooooooooooooo overpaid!

I didn’t know that France had a team?

Oh, you that bunch of Arsenal players (well, 4 of them play for Arsenal) who have played twice, got one point and not even managed to score one goal?

Bring back the guillotine, that’s what I say!

The only thing you can say about them is that they make England look good!

And that’s difficult because England are CRAP – especially that Rooney!

Bring back the guillotine, that’s what I say!

Chop off their feet, that’s the answer – trouble is, if you did that to Rooney you wouldn’t notice any difference!

    Sorry, rant over!

P.S. I will say that if ever that ROONEY decides to take his holidays in France, he’d better avoid Brittany!

The French team are just on their normal cycle – do extremely well one World Cup, go out in the first round in the next. All quite normal.

As for England. I don’t agree that Rooney is a donkey. Hesky is a donkey. Rooney is Shrek.

The team’s performance is toe-nail knawingly bad, but that is normal too. Come on Keith. Chin up. It’ll all be over by Wednesday night when the mighty Slovenia hand England their arse on a plate and the US crush Algeria to go through top of the group. It’s just part of being English.

Jon, I’m not sure I can even reach my toe nails to gnaw them! But the French are being more than bad on the pitch, they are bringing SHAME to the whole nation with their antics striking and walking out in a huff and being sacked. It’s all much more entertaining than their actual footie. I was riveted listening to the radio yesterday.

As a Spurs supporter you’d think that I was used to pain and misery?

Slovenia are going to beat us and we should be rioting in the streets!

Don’t the Bolivians do that when their national team plays like a bunch of donkeys?

Come to think of it, don’t they start shooting the players when their national team plays like a bunch of donkeys?

    That might work?

    All the best

I can top Spurs: I’m a Norwich City supporter. Mediocrity and I are well established bed fellows.

I’m glad I still have the Americans to root for! :D

Funny, when I was in middle school (like collège here) we used to have Donkey Basketball. No really. There was a company that would bring donkeys into the school gymnasium and there were teachers and upper grades students that would play basketball while riding donkeys. The school made a raffle of it to raise money. I’d totally forgotten about that until reading this post.

And hey — Wiki even has a

Whoops — hit “enter” by mistake.

I was finishing up by writing, Wiki has an article about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donkey_basketball

    Hahahaha!

Sorry — one more — this is an informative link, too: http://www.donkeyball.com/

Just think! The England team could have a whole ‘nother career ahead of them! :D

I have not had sufficient cups of tea yet this morning. Heh.
