All Things French - France - General

france general All Things French because we all love reading blogs about life in FranceThe more I think about things, the more I see no rhyme or reason in life.

No one knows why some things work out and some things don’t.

Why some of us are lucky and some of us get to review Life in France blogs for tuppence an hour?

It was hard to know where to put “All things French” (in terms of category) as the author, Dianne, lives in Australia which is rather a long way from France and thus, this doesn’t really qualify as a Life in France blog.

However, as all the posts in this lovely photoblog are taken in France I’m going to let it  in.

What is genuinely bizzare is that the blog’s Author is called Dianne but she signs her posts with a completely different name. Which is Puddinglane!

Why? Absolutely no idea!

An Eternity in Provence…..

Dianne certainly likes Provence.

Take a look at Provence – a profusion of flavours and, in particular, the third photo down.

Go on, click on it to enlarge it!  Now, doesn’t that make you hungry?

And you can’t get more Provencal that Vincent’s Sunflowers, can you?

Have you seen Le Petit Train in Monaco?  How cute is that?

Perhaps the Beach Clubs and Rhubarb Ice Cream to be found in Cannes?

And I have checked (at considerable length, I might add), the second photo on behalf of the more discrete (or shy) of you – there are no topless sunbathers so, it’s safe to take a look.

Although, I don’t know what is it about people and nudity? Particularly breasts? How can we be so interested in them? I mean, seriously- they’re just breasts, every second person has them. They’re odd looking, they’re for milk from your mother. What’s all the fuss about?

Moving swiftly along…

Which would you say is more Provencal?  Les Lavandes or Beautiful Vence?

Can you decide?  Me neither.

Parisienne Walkways…..

Dianne also takes us round Paris, stopping in at Rue Montorgueil (don’t touch the tomatoes!) before heading off to visit the grave of Gustave Caillebotte.

From there, it’s a mere stroll to the Vineyards at Montemartre and a charming little Bistroso French and cutsie!

I think Dianne likes patisserie.  She certainly likes licking the windows at La Maison Stoher in the Rue Montorgueil!

And after all that window stuff, it might be an idea to have a Cafe Creme on the Left Bank.

Just going to the kitchen to get some food….

Then I’m going to tell you a story that will make your willpower shrink to the size of a raisin.

Of course, a Life in France blog wouldn’t be allowed unless there was plenty of foodie bit.  In this matter, “All things French” certainly doesn’t disappoint.

We should probably start with some Salade Compose and then move on to more belt challenging stuff at

And how about finishing off with a nice Creme Brulee?

Or would you prefer some Clafoutis?

I can’t decide; I think I’ll have both!

So, summing up…..

Now, I enjoyed the blog very much. I was just wondering, whether Dianne ever considered having more Citroen 2Cvs in it?

Sure enough, there is a whole post dedicated to that pearl of French perfection… Le Citroen Deux Chevaux!

And just look, this one is a blue one!  They go faster, you know!

Just look at that wooden roof rack; and what about that high level spot?

That’s a good enough reason to visit “All things French” alone!

Come on; pop in and take a look.

And me?  Well, I’m going to have a Lazy Day in Provence and then gorge myself on some Pretty Picture Views!

Care to join me?

All the best

Bonjour Keith – To a very new time blogger it was very interesting to read some-ones impression of my blog, and I have to say I was quite chuffed – I think you done well to put into words what I had hoped to convey to the readers. I know South Australia is a long way from France but I do visit often and my heart is always there.
