These are going to be mini reviews because some of the sites haven’t been updated for a long time and others have only just started.
So, let’s start off with Let the world change you…
A long time ago, in June 2006, Julia went to work for the Peace Corps in Cape Verde and started a blog to let people know about what was going on.
Then, in September 2008, she came back to the States and stopped updating the blog.
Now, the blog has mysteriously started up again which has led international obsevers to socur the planet to find out where Julia is.
She’s been tracked down to a place called Clermont-Ferrand which, as we all know, is in the Auvergne.
Now, there have only been two posts since the blog has been resuscitated (hence the mini review), but that last of them, Why chocolate covered marshmallow bears are life changing, will probably go down in history as one of the quintessentially perfect starts to a blog about life in France that I have ever read.
The whole post focuses around les Soldes and the quest for a pair of black boots (strangely enough, Lauren at The Au Pair Project has also been muttering about the self same thing – it must be a girlie disease; it must be catching?) but ends up only buying some of the aforementioned chocolate covered bears.
Looking back through some of the old Cape Verde stuff (which isn’t really my scene), I do have a good, good feeling that this blog is going to be something special.
I’ll certainly be popping in every few days to see what’s going on….
What don’t you take a look at Let the world change you… as well?
I’m sure a comment as a sign of encouragement wouldn’t go amiss?
Go on… I’m sure it’d make Julia’s day!
All the best
