A Taste of Garlic

Mini review – Bérets, Baguettes, and Bureaucracy - Auvergne

auvergne Mini review Bérets, Baguettes, and Bureaucracy because we all love reading blogs about life in FranceBérets, Baguettes, and Bureaucracy is Allison’s blog that she started, to use her own words… “as a way to be in touch with my family and friends when I moved to France to be with my (now) husband. Now, at the urging of many readers, I hope to expand it to include useful information about my life in France, including new recipes, travels and general experiences in a foreign country.”

The blog started in June 2010 with the post… Why I started a blog… with Allison starting her new life in France in Paris.

The post from that month that stands out for me is To market, to market! where Allison buys a welcome mat for her apartment!

And then it’s Goodbye, Paris when Fabien, Allison’s fiance, gets a job in Clermont-Ferrand.

After a quick trip back to America Allison returns to France and decides to write a letter to President Sarkozy!

And what a letter it is!

Letter to France: Special edition would have easily won the Rant of the Week Award is only I’d know about it then!

I think that some of the bloggers that I follow here at A Taste of Garlic could learn a lesson or two from Allison when it comes to ranting!

And then, in November, in the post Me and you, just us two<3 Allison gets married!

Well, she doesn’t actually get married in the post; the post is about her getting married, if you see what I mean?

Of course, I should reward you all for your patience because the news you have been waiting for finally appears in December!

Are you all sitting comfortably?

Those of you who need to, have you checked your pacemakers?

Yes, it’s true!

In ‘Tis the Season! Allison admits that she and Fabien have been going…..

Line Dancing!

Well, I wouldn’t have believed it unless I’d seen photos as proof!

No wonder Allison goes on to say that she’s Welcoming Meat Back into my Life.

She’ll be needing the energy for all that yee-hah cowboy hat stuff?

And in the same post, Allison is kind enough to provide a recipe for a leek and sausage dish that she and Fabien enjoy a lot.

And very tasty it looks too!

The most recent post, on January 31 2011, is a Flashback over the past year.

And what a year it seems to have been!

Moving to France, moving from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand, getting married and even managing to fit in a bit of line dancing too!

Allison must have more energy than me!

I have to say that this is a wonderful start to a wonderful blog and I’m going to keep my eye closely on the future exploits recorded in Bérets, Baguettes, and Bureaucracy

And I’d suggest that you take a look in too.

Who knows, some of you might even have some line dancing tips for Allison as well?

All the best
