Mini review – Coffee or Tea - Auvergne
Busy hunting out blogs to review in the Auvergne I came across Coffee or Tea
Coffee or Tea is Jenn’s blog and Jenny has only recently moved to Cleremont-Ferrand to study at Group ESC which, in her own words… “It’s a Ecole Superior du Commerce, which is like a university, except…more specialized.”
Jenny says of herself…. “I’m a small-town girl with some Big time dreams! I’m moving to the big city, or bigger than mine, to follow the big dreams in life, and on this road, I’m learning about decisions!”
The French part of Jenny’s blog starts on January 12th when Jenny announces that she’s Traded my Sorority Screams for French Kisses.
In that post, Jenny moves to France and discovers all those things that make France the greatest country in the world!
Namely… Banana and Nutella Crepes, Babyfoot, drinking lots of coffee in cafés and, basically…. trading her “girly loud, American sorority greetings for quiet and polite kisses on the cheek”
What a great start to a blog!
From there, the blog moves onto Homeless no more! where Jenny finds somewhere to live (always useful if you’re starting a new life in a new country) and shows off her 70s style kitchen, ghetto light fittings and her fireplace.
Then comes Direct your cookies here isn’t so much a request for biscuit parcels (which are like Red Cross parcels but specifically for students living abroad rather than refugees or prisoners of war!) but more about wearing a crown (???), Jenny’s little camp bed and the Cat Lady downstairs!
I bet there’ll be stories to come about the Cat Lady downstairs!
And then Jenny does the strangest of things….
In Rugby or Die she tries out for the school rugby team (I’m not sure if it’s the girls’ team or the mens’ one?) and gets rather dirty in the process!
Jenny then goes on to tell us that Life is like an ankle and, although I’ve spent most of my life thinking that life is more like a pig’s trotter; hairy and gristly on the outside but lovely and succulent when you get beneath the skin!), I do have to admire her confidence in ” walking tall in a life unknown.”
Finaly, in the most recent post, Heart in Pieces, Jenny philosophises about her new life.
You know, I think that she’s going to do rather well in France!
Why don’t you pop over to Coffee or Tea and have a look around?
You may even want to leave a comment to say hello?
We all need an encouraging word every now and again, don’t we?
Personally I’m going to be popping in at least once a week….
If only for more information (and hopefully pictures) of what’s going on with the rugby team!
All the best
