Having only moved over here on the 6th of January, Biscuits to Baguettes is still a very new blog.
That’s why I’m doing a mini-review of it here today.
Biscuits to Baguettes is Leigh and Bruce’s blog about their move to Clermont-Ferrand in the Auvergne.
Leigh says of her blog… “My husband and I are living as expats in Clermont-Ferrand, FRANCE for 2 years. This site is way for me to share our experiences with family and friends and, most likely, be my photo journal of our time here.”
The French part of the blog starts with Nous sommes ici! (We are here!) with Leigh and Bruce arriving in France with, of course, their Roaming Gnome!
I wish I’d had a Roaming Gnome when I moved to France.
Things would have probably been so much easier for me?
The nest step is for them to get Our New Car and they choose a black Honda.
Not quite as interesting as a blue Citroen 2CV but probably a lot more practical!
Leigh and Bruce had visited France before so they had an idea of what to expect.
However, there are some Unique Things About France (or things that I forgot to remember) to bear in mind….
Important things such as… “Public restrooms – You cannot just walk into a restaurant or even McDonald’s to use their restroom. You have to buy something there first. We went to McDonald’s, bought a latte, and received a code to the bathroom on our receipt. The other option is the public toilettes around town. They cost 0.20 Euro which you insert for the door to open. When you leave, the door closes and a complete cleaning is done of the toilette area. We were trying to save money and just let me go in after Bruce came out without closing the door in between. Thank goodness we remembered the cleaning cycle or I would have been sprayed also!”
A visit to Chamalieres includes wander round the market where there are all sorts of goodies on offer.
The day ends with a cheese fondue at Leigh’s favourite restaurant, Le Petit Chaperon Rouge.
The latest post asks the question… Est ce que vous est content? and Leigh can honestly say that she and Bruce are.
And, you know what, I can honestly say that I’m happy to have discovered this lovely blog.
I hope it continues for the rest of Leigh and Bruce’s stay in the Auvergne.
I bet you’d enjoy taking a Biscuits to Baguettes too!
So why don’t you pop round and take a look?
And if you enjoy it, leave a little message to let them know that you’ve visited?
All the best
